Thanks for your comment. I've just corrected the mistake and do hope that there are no further typos ;) The thing with a broken package your are talking about might also result from that typo. I've already been thinking about a possible googlecode-project to revive TP Fan Control or at least to make sure that it works with modern distros, but at the moment I'm really lacking spare time. May be in August or September. | |||

Hello. Thanks very much for resolving tpfan issues It is fan-tastic tool to keep this laptop cool and quiet (together with PHC undervolt)
I am english so had to translate this page (using google translate) NOTE: the google translate CHANGES the boxed code!!!!
- Therefore only copy code from the German page!***
Two other errors: 1. A white pace in the line: sed -i 's/# Please also look if there are files or directories which have a//g' tpfan-admin_0.96-ubuntu1_all_patched/usr/share/doc/tpfan- admin/copyright
The correct version is: sed -i 's/# Please also look if there are files or directories which have a//g' tpfan-admin_0.96-ubuntu1_all_patched/usr/share/doc/tpfan-admin/copyright
2. When this is install is carried out on Ubuntu 11.04 gnome all looks ok but there are broken dependencies: So after the install I went to synaptic and auto fixed the broken package: tpfand-admin. This installed python and KDE dependencies and then everything works fine (after re-boot)
Thanks again zcat
